Healthy Travel Tips: How to Get Your Greens On the Go (Aria Hotel, Las Vegas)

hotandhealthyliving.com Going Green on Vacation Anybody who’s been to Whole Foods Market lately has seen Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s ANDI (Aggregate Nutrient Density Index) system in place. The ANDI score analyzes many nutrients in a food such as calcium, the ORAC score (oxygen radical absorbance capacity, which measures the antioxidant capacity of foods), calcium, carotenoids, B vitamins, etc. The highest score a food can get is 1000, the lowest is close to zero. Dark leafy greens rank the highest (cola gets a score of 0.6). The ANDI score convinces me everyone should eat a huge serving of dark leafy greens everyday. At home I eat a lot of dark leafy green salads but I also make a green smoothie everyday. I’m so hooked on my green smoothies that I actually crave them if I miss a day. Right now I’m in Vegas and I can tell you nobody here is making (or drinking) green smoothies. But I’m still craving them! Salads are of course a no-brainer way to get your dark leafy green fix while on the go, and I eat plenty of salads at home and while traveling too (by the way, believe it or not, the Vegas buffets have plenty of dark leafy greens and other healthy foods to eat—you just have to make the right choices!) The video shows how easy it is to make a green smoothie on the go with individual travel-size packets of freeze-dried greens. I had a hard time listening to you talk because I was watching that guy in the background who is trying sooo hard to look uninterested…how hilarious.
I think that this stuff is a good idea unfortunately living in germany your tip doesn’t really help me but I love how you’re doing videos about how to eat healthy and do workouts while away from home!

@Stef6788 hi! how funny about the guy in the background!! i didn’t even notice him until you mentioned it. HYSTERICAL! anyway, so glad you like the tips. I wish I could give you some tips for living overseas, but It’s been over 15 years since I’ve been to Germany and back then I was into eating goulash, not greens ;)

    thanks again for the feedback!!

That is funny about the guy in back. I enjoy your videos, very informative. Also I miss the better video quality, not the HD just little less pixelated.

@dsfbeta hi! thank you so much for the feedback. I so much appreciate it!! As for the video quality & pixelation I’ve been having the worst time with YouTube as I can’t seem to download my higher resolution videos anymore. The only way YouTube accepts them is if I compress them into an MPEG format—my other videos were .m2ts . i’m not very good with tech stuff so trying to figure out how to get around this has been driving me berserk =( if you have any suggestions please let me know!!!
